5TH DISTRICT SUB-JUNIOR KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2025-26
The 5th Thiruvananthapuram District Sub-Junior Karate Championship 2025–26 was inaugurated by Smt. V. Priyadarshini, President of Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat, at the V. S. Achuthanandan Indoor Stadium, Neeruvila, Ottur.
The function was presided over by Shri R. Suraj, President of SKAT. Shri G. Jayachandran, President of Ottur Grama Panchayat, delivered the keynote address.
Shri Lalu T., Ottur Grama Panchayat Member and District Sports Council Member; Shri Sampath V., Secretary, SKAT; Shri S. Nasserudheen, Vice President, SKAT; and Shri M. Suresh Kumar, Joint Secretary, SKAT, also addressed the gathering.
Around 450 participants from 45 SKAT-affiliated clubs across Thiruvananthapuram district, along with individual registrations, competed in 36 events.
The championship was organized by the Sports Karate Association of Thiruvananthapuram, functioning with the recognition of the Thiruvananthapuram District Sports Council and Thiruvananthapuram District Olympic Association. The organizers arranged modern facilities, including tournament management software, to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the championship.
SKAT’s 5th ,CADET, JUNIOR, U-21 AND SENIOR Thiruvananthapuram District Karate Championship Concludes

The 5th Thiruvananthapuram District Cadet, Junior, Under-21, and Senior Karate Championship 2025–26, organized under the auspices of the Sports Karate Association of Thiruvananthapuram (SKAT), concluded successfully. The championship was held on December 27 and 28 at Sreepadam Indoor Stadium, Attingal, with the recognition of the Thiruvananthapuram District Sports Council, Thiruvananthapuram District Olympic Association, and Kerala Karate Association.
The championship featured international-standard infrastructure, excellent organizational arrangements for the smooth conduct of the competitions, and an impartial, high-quality judging system. Lunch was also arranged for the participants and coaches.
Approximately 400 athletes, including participants from 57 SKAT-affiliated clubs and those who registered individually, competed in the championship. Attingal Karate Club emerged as the Overall Champions with 210 points. J.K.N.S.K. Kerala, Pothencode, secured the Overall Second Position with 97 points, while United Shitoryu Association secured the Third Position.
The athletes who secure first and second positions in each event of this championship will represent Thiruvananthapuram District at the State Karate Championship organized by the Kerala Karate Association.
The inaugural ceremony, held on Saturday morning under the chairmanship of SKAT President R. Suraj, was inaugurated by Attingal Municipal Chairperson M. Pradeep. Jayakrishnan J. K., Joint Secretary of the Kerala Olympic Association, delivered the keynote address.
During the closing ceremony held on Sunday, the medals were distributed by Nujoom, Sports Council Observer.
